Flower Power

Since today is Halloween so I dressed Sadie up as a flower and took her to church for Trunk or Treat so she could see her daddy.

She is the cutest tulip I have ever seen.

Drinking

We had such a fun but busy weekend. I have several pictures to share from all the fun but I'm too tired to post them tonight.

For now I leave you with this picture of Sadie. The Hog game on Saturday drove her to drinking.

Not sure how we made it to
#7 in the BCS but we'll take it! WPS!!

Timing Is Everything

As you know I love taking pictures of Sadie. She can be so much fun to photograph because normally it is easy to get her to smile. Having said this though, timing is everything. It is best not to take her picture right before or during what is supposed to be her nap time. If you do this is what you'll get...

Truth is, these faces make some of the cutest pictures. She has the best mad face. It is so full of drama and emotion. Scary.

I still prefer to take her pictures when she isn't so sleepy because she will be sure to flash all sorts of smiles.

(and check out the belly, ha!)

Recipes, Pajamas, and Toys

This is a VERY random post but there are a few random things I wanted to share.

***

In effort to lose weight I've been trying to plan healthier meals. I've mentioned on here before I had been hearing a lot about the SkinnyTaste website so I started there for good ideas.

This weekend I made this and these.

Both were hits in our home. The chili was even better the next day.

I will admit I was a little unsure about the cupcakes. When I know something is "diet" I tend to be a little judgemental. Josh, however, wasn't judgemental towards them at all and he LOVED them. He told me today he wants me to make them again. They really are good!

I have two more recipes from this website I'm trying this week and I plan to try even more.

Sadie's Christmas pajamas came in yesterday and they ARE SO CUTE!!! Actually they might be too cute for her to sleep in. I almost want to put her in them today. They came from here and so I knew they'd be cute. Everything from Ashley is cute!

***

I gave Sadie a new toy to play with yesterday. She thought it was the best toy. You can't see it here because she is swinging it back and forth so fast.

It's an empty water bottle.

Another reason she will not be getting new, expensive toys for Christmas.

Hope everyone has a great week!!

6 Months Old

October 13, 2011

Sadie you are 6 months old.

You are currently closer to turning one than you are to the day you were born.

*cue ugly cry*
I've spent a lot time lately looking at all your newborn pictures because you hardly look anything like you used to.

Here you are at 1, 3, and 6 months. My, my, how you've changed.

You had your 6 month appointment today and you weighed 17.6 pounds (75%) and were only 25" (25%). At your last two visits you've been in the lower range for height. I guess all that growth early on has slowed down. The pediatrician isn't worried since clearly you aren't malnourished.

You wear size 2 diapers.

You mostly wear size 3-6 month and size 6 month clothes.

You take 5 bottles a day and each are 5 ounces.

You eat cereal and fruit in the morning and vegetables and fruit for dinner.

You eat Mum-Mums for snacks and you play with Puffs. You aren't too sure about them yet but they make great toys.

You get water/juice every day and you love it.

Your doctor said to stop taking Zantac because it appears your reflux might be better.

You are still "teething". You have episodes that are clearly teething related but still no sign of a single tooth. Where are they??

You still go to bed around 7 or 7:30 and wake up around 7. Some mornings recently you've been up around 6:30 but luckily you just play/talk until it is time to get up. You aren't the best napper. You only take a 30 minute nap at school, you sometimes take a 45 minute nap right after school then you go down for 1.5 to 2 hours after your 1pm feeding.

You're such a big girl. You can sit up by yourself but I don't trust you completely so I always make sure you have cushion for your falls.

You love to roll around on the floor. You're very frustrated that you aren't mobile yet, especially when a toy is out of reach, but you'll get there. I'm certainly not going to push it.

You've started sleeping on your tummy some and I don't like it at all. You prefer to sleep on your back but at times you flip over and then get so tired you don't have the energy to roll back the other way.

You laugh and giggle all the time and I love it. When you really get going you shake your head from side to side.
You love your jumperoo, playing on the floor and being in the Jeep and watching TV on your "recliner"at Jules and Big D's house.

You want to grab and play with everything in front of you.

You still sit in your swing almost everyday.

You LOVE when people sing to you.

Last weekend you sat in a high chair at a restaurant for the first time. You looked so old.

Sadie, you are such a good baby. You still only get really fussy when you're tired. You are getting a little more of an attitude when it comes to toys and things but you're still very sweet.
You are so much fun to be around. I love spending most of my time with you because you're constantly learning and doing new things. Some days I feel like my heart my burst because I love you so much. You're so special and your daddy and I think you're the cutest baby in the world. We love you, Little Sadie Lady.

Just the Beginning

For a while now I've seen glimpses into my future. Even though Sadie is still a little baby I've recognized the making of a drama queen-fit thrower.

Impossible to imagine, huh? Not my sweet little angel.
Well this weekend I got more than just a glimpse of what's to come.
Sadie actually had two crying fits when I took her toy away from her.
The first time I was stunned and gave it back to her without thinking.
The second time I was ready and I did not give in.

It really bothered me that at 6 months old she was already throwing a fit because she didn't get what she wanted. I know this is just the beginning and it scares me. I feel I need to start major parenting classes, probably read a few books, etc. I need a game plan because clearly my adorable little Sadie has been sharing Eve's apple! :)

Pumpkin Patch

Warning: Picture Overload

Today we met our friends Jenny, Ben, and Luke at the Pumpkin Patch. Their play group was going and they invited us to come along. Jenny and I were dying to get pictures of our little "pumpkins" together. Here are some pictures from our fun at the patch.

Sadie loves Jenny. :)

Josh, Ben, and Sadie checking out all the animals.

Jenny and sweet Luke.
Brotherly love. I adore these two boys!

Ben really wanted to pick the perfect pumpkin.

Josh and Sadie checking out all the pumpkins.

Sadie and Luke.

Let me just tell you they looked so cute in their coordinating outfits. I could have died at the cuteness of these two. We took a few good pictures but the majority were like the ones below.

I laugh every time I look at this. Luke's legs up in the air cracks me up. What you don't see is that shortly after Sadie had a fall herself.

Yep, sums it up!

Sadie was a little too serious while we were at the pumpkin patch. When she is in unfamiliar environments she sits back and takes it all in. Not to mention she was sleepy and hot.

Regardless though we had a great time! We'll certainly go back next year.

After the Pumpkin Patch and a short nap she was back to her normal self so I took a few pictures of her with the pumpkin "she" picked. Here are just a few. :)

Happy Fall, Y'all!

Half

Today is Sadie's Half Birthday!!

I can't believe we're halfway through her first year.

I wanted to do something special to celebrate but I just didn't get around to it. I thought about getting myself a cupcake in her honor since she can't eat them but that wouldn't be good for my diet so I refrained. Instead I made her a special shirt to wear to school.

Her official 6 month post is coming soon.

Sew Long

*Update: I get asked this a lot so I will just put it on here. I have a Brother Innovis 2500D embroidery machine.*

After I had Sadie I had zero energy to even think about sitting down at my sewing/embroidery machine and making anything. I wanted to because there were so many things to make for a little girl but I just couldn't do it. Not to mention my sewing area was a mess. Well since Josh fixed the mess problem for me I really had no excuse. My baby was growing up and she needed her momma to make her things. :)

Sadie didn't have many things to wear on game days so I decided I'd start there. So far I have made her 3 game day outfits and a few coordinating bows.

I'm in the process of making her an October outfit (I hope I finish it since it's already half over) and I have plans to do something for Thanksgiving and of course, Christmas. I have so many things I'd like to do and not so much time. I will say it is a lot more fun sewing for your own child. I get to see the fruits of my labor first hand. I love it. I do love sewing and it feels good to be back into the swing of things. I've had a few requests for me to make things for people. This is something I'd like to get back into but right now I'm focusing on what I can make for Sadie. I'll be posting what I make because I know I will enjoy looking back and seeing what I made her.

A Win and a Rash

I wish I had lots of exciting things to post about on here. Actually sometimes exciting things aren't always good things so for now I'll stick with being boring.

The exciting events that went on in our household this past weekend were a Hog win and a diaper rash. Obviously we were THRILLED with the Hog victory over Auburn. Although my love and devotion for Razorback football has taken a back seat to the cute chubby baby living in my home I am still a HUGE fan. Josh and I don't have cable so we had to watch the game on our computer. I'm just thankful we were able to see the game. Well, I was able to see almost all of the game. Remember that cute chubby baby I was referring to? During the last few minutes of the game I was in the car headed to the drug store to get some things for her diaper rash. Priorities. I'm happy to report the diaper rash is much better.

In other good news since the Hogs won Sadie was able to wear a victory dress to church the next day.

My Little Lady in Red.

Moving on...here are a few pictures over the last couple of days that make me smile.

My mom watched Sadie Monday morning while I worked and she played so hard she fell asleep in the floor. She never falls asleep in the floor. She prefers her bed. I guess she was too tired to care. I love she has one sock on and one sock off. Not to mention she is wearing what she slept in and she looks a mess. I love her.

This picture is from today. Sadie was so sleepy she fell asleep after her afternoon bottle. She is usually ready to leap off my lap and play after she finishes her bottles so I loved getting to hold my sleeping baby. It reminded me of her newborn days.

After she woke up she was ready to go so I put her in her jumperoo. As you can tell she had a great time.

Totally off the subject but I'm glad so many of you are signing up for One Kings Lane. I assume you're probably all getting Erin Condren products. I'm sure you'll love them. If you missed it see the post below to know what I'm talking about.
