New Things

I normally save the new things Sadie does or discovers for her monthly post but I feel if I don't document them now I might forget.

She has discovered her tongue.

She has discovered her feet and they entertain her while she is in her carseat.

She laughs out all the time. It's the sweetest sound.

She has become a fan of her lovie, Bunny.

She had developed a "big girl" cry. Bless my heart.

Missed Her Daddy

*If you are viewing this from your phone the two videos probably aren't showing up*

While Josh was gone to camp with our youth group Sadie sure did miss him. We sent him lots of pictures and videos of his little girl.

Our Schedule

I was thinking the other day that I wanted to remember how Sadie and I spent our days while she was little. I've worked really hard to get Sadie on a good schedule and I feel like at this point she is. Before she decides to put a kink in our schedule I wanted to document it. Obviously some of are days vary depending up the number of errands I have to do or if we're traveling. This is mainly for when we are home or only have a few things to do around town.

(here she is modeling her new dress...love her little face in this pictures)

Schedule

7:00 (or 7:30): Eat Time. Sadie either wakes up on her own or I wake her up. I've been using the 7, 10, 1, 4, 7, 10 schedule but if we have something planned the next day or I know she's really tired I might start it at 7:30. She doesn't seem to be bothered by the 30 minute difference. At this time I change her diaper, give her Zantac, and Mylecon, then give her a bottle.

7:30-8:30: Play Time. Sadie is normally finished eating by this time. I usually hold her for a while to help her reflux. She prefers to be in her bouncy or swing shortly after she eats. I think her tummy feels better when she's stretched out. She's so happy in the mornings. She loves being in her swing, watching Praise Baby, talking, and laughing. While she's doing this I spend time getting dressed, eating breakfast, and picking out her outfit of the day. If we have errands to run I get her dressed during this time also. And I've been known to use "play time" to take pictures of her in her green chair.

8:30-10:00: Sleep Time. When we are home Sadie goes down for a nap at this time. She is soooo ready for this nap. Normally about 10 minutes before it she gets fussy and you know she's ready to sleep. This is one of her best times to nap. Again, if she's super tired I might let her sleep a few extra minutes (IF we started the day at 7) and we adjust our schedule otherwise I wake her up at 10:00. During this naptime I usually wash bottles, blog, pick things up around the apartment, etc. If we have errands to run I like to do them at this time because Sadie will fall asleep in the car normall anyway so I can get what I need done and be back before the next feeding.

10:00: Eat Time. I wake Sadie up and give her a bottle.

10:30-11:30: Play Time. Our routine is the same immediately after each feeding. I also like to give her time to play on her mat and do tummy time after this feeding. Now that she can sit in her bumbo I let her sit in it to help build her muscles as well. Of course a lot of times I hold her and kiss on her because is so stinking cute I can't stand it.

11:30-1:00: Sleep Time. This is typically a good nap for Sadie as well. Sometimes she wakes up in the middle, cries for about 20 seconds, then falls back asleep. I don't normally let her cry it out* during this nap if she had a really good nap earlier. This normally isn't a problem because she usually sleeps great during this time. While she's napping I finish up on what I didn't get done during the first nap. And I eat lunch. :)

1:00: Eat Time. I wake Sadie up (if she isn't awake but she usually is) and give her a bottle. This bottle has 1 ounce of pear juice in to "help her out a little".

1:30-2:30: Play Time. We normally do the same thing we did during the last play time OR we go run errands. It's so hot these days so we try not to run errands during afternoons. She and I both burn up.

2:30-4:00: Sleep Time. Sometimes Sadie doesn't go down until closer to 3:00. She doesn't nap super great in the afternoons if she has had two good morning naps. I'm going to try to get her used to a long morning nap, long afternoon nap, and extra cat naps at some point. I think she'll do better with those but for now she needs to sleep throughout the day. Sometimes with this nap I have to leave her in her crib until it is time to get up. During this nap I do the same thing as the others. There's always something that needs to be done.

4:00: Eat Time. I get Sadie up and give her a bottle.

4:30-5:30: Play Time. We normally do what we did during the other play times. I try and change it up a bit so she doesn't get bored. If she is enjoying her swing at this time I might take advantage of it and get things ready for dinner. Don't be fooled, this is only when I cook, which isn't often.

5:30-7:00: Sleep Time. This is Sadie's worst nap time. She normally only naps for about 30-45 minutes. I have tried to make her nap BUT she just doesn't do well. If she has slept great during the day I normally don't force this entire nap time on her. I will get her up and play with her. One reason I do this too is because Josh has worked all day and he gets home during this time. He's more than ready to see her and I know that time is priceless. This is also dinner time for Josh and I though so we try to eat while she is sleeping if we can.

7:00: Eat Time. Sadie gets her bottle and her Zantac at this time.

7:30-8:30: Play Time. After Sadie eats we play with her for a bit (this is usually Josh holding her) then she gets a bath. I give her a bath and get her ready for bed. Sadie usually gets VERY fussy after her bath because she knows it is sleep time and she is more than ready.

8:30-10:00: Sleep Time. Sadie normally cries a little at this point but only because she is SOOO tired. It doesn't last long and then she is normally out. If she doesn't fall hard asleep she lays in her bed and "plays." It's pretty cute. During this time is when Josh tends to Sadie if she needs it and I shower. Ahhh....I love this time of the day. Don' get me wrong, I love being with Sadie during the day. It's the best! I do, however, love shower time. It's the only time I can have with just me to relax. It doesn't last long but it is precious.

10:00: Eat Time. I wake Sadie up and give her a bottle. She normally sleeps and takes it which is nice.

10:30pm-7:00am. Sleep Time. At this time she goes right back to sleep because she normally never wakes up. She's so sweet and I kiss her face again and again.

*I know that not everyone agrees with or does "cry it out" and that is just fine. It is not for everyone but it works well for Sadie. I've already heard all the good and bad things about it so no need to leave me a comment about why I shouldn't do it. :)

Newborn Pictures

Here are a few of Sadie's newborn photos. The first one is one of my favorites. Sadie was a week old when my friend Jill (who is taking a break from photography) took these.

I love the little bed Sadie had some pictures in but I had really wanted to get one outside. The day she took her pictures it was POURING!!!!!!!!!!! I asked another friend Jill if she would care to come take Sadie's picture a few weeks later.

I'm so excited that I won a free photography session from another friend (more on that later) so we're getting 3 month pictures of Sadie done in a few weeks. And I've already planned to get family pictures done of the 3 of us when she's 6 months old (in hopes of some weight loss happening...let it be Lord, let it be). I love having Sadie's pictures made because she is so stinking cute. If I do say so myself. :)

Just Wait

** I can't get the spacing to look normal. I apologize.**

Your whole life you hear the words, "just wait."

Just wait...

Until you're older

Until you start school

Until you get a boyfriend

Until you start driving

Until you go to college

Until you graduate

Until you are in the "real world"

Until you get married

Etc, etc, etc.

I never really paid much attention to the "just wait" talk until I became pregnant. It was all I heard.

Just wait...

Until you're father along

Until your feet swell

Until you stop sleeping at night

Until you go to the bathroom all the time

Until maternity clothes don't fit

Until you go into labor

Until you start feeling contractions

Until your modesty goes out the window

Etc, etc, etc.

I thought it was just hormones that made the "just waits" so annoying but now I'm not so sure. The hormones have settled down a bit but the "just waits" haven't.

Just wait...

Until she's older

Until she starts crawling

Until she starts walking

Until she starts talking

Until she starts throwing fits

Until she's a toddler

Until you have more than one child

Until she gets sick

Until she starts school

Etc, etc, etc.

I'm totally guilty of telling people to "just wait" too. The truth is I don't want to "just wait." I just want to be in the moment. Yes, sometimes I complain about being tired or how hard being a mom is but I don't want to "just wait" until she's a toddler or until I have more than one to really have something to complain about. I just want to live and learn in the moment. If we all "just wait" for the next thing with either excitement or dread we're going to miss where we're at. Lately I've really started paying attention to the "just waits" and to the "I can't wait untils". Time flies so fast and I don't want to miss a second of RIGHT NOW. I love my RIGHT NOW and even though what's next might be better or worse I want to stay here. You should just enjoy your RIGHT NOW too.

Instagram

I really really really like the Instagram App on my phone. I had been meaning to download it for a while but I never did. I finally got around to it and now I can't stop using it with my photos. Here are some of my favorites.

Smells Good

I know many of you have been Scentsy fans for a LONG time. I've always liked the idea of it and wanted to try it for myself but was just too cheap to get anything. You should all know by now that we are very budget oriented so I pick and choose what is most important. Well, a few weeks ago I decided that I was tired of our place smelling like formula, diapers, and butt paste. I talked to my frined Megan, who sells Scentsy, and decided it was time to make a purchase.

This is the full size warmer I got. I love it. It goes well with our decor.

Luna is the scent I currently have burning. It smells so yummy.

I also love their room spray. I gave these as part of some hostess gifts and we had a few left over. I spray it a lot and it lasts a long time.
I think my next purchase will be something for my car. Any suggestions on a good car scent?
For those of you who love Scentsy too, what scents do you like the best? I want to try some new ones.
I am so glad I bought this. It is so worth the money and honestly it's not a bad price when you get the package deals. Even Sadie is getting in on the Scentsy action.
She has Lenny the lamb on her changing table. His back opens up and you put a Scentsy bag inside. He smells her room up nicely.

And in July she is getting this warmer for her room. HOW CUTE IS THIS?!?! If you are ever interested in ordering something you can go to my friend Megan's website (she didn't ask me to link her I just want to). Click here to get to it.

Two Months

Monday, June 13, 2011

Sadie you are TWO MONTHS OLD. That is unbelievable. I think I will say that every month/year. You have grown so much this month.

You weigh 11 pounds and 10 ounces. You've gained exactly 2 pounds in a month. You are in the 69% range for weight. You are 23 1/2 inches long which means you've grown two inches. That puts you in the 89% range for height. You're my tall girl. And your head is in the 89% range as well. That's fine just as long as you can still wear your cute head bands.

You wear size 0-3 month and 3 month clothes. The 0-3 month fit you better right now but that's only a matter of time. You wear size one diapers but they seem so big on you.

You generally sleep from about 10:30 or 11:00pm to 7:00 or 7:30am. Sometimes you'll wake up in the night but a diaper change and/or re-swaddle usually does the trick. You sleep in your crib and have done that since you were 5 weeks old. You LOVE your room so it makes naps and bedtime a lot easier. It normally doesn't take you long to fall asleep. Your "cry it out episodes" are very short and you usually fall asleep mid-cry.

You have also done a lot better this month with eat/play/sleep. You normally stay awake just like you're supposed to. This has really helped you get and stay on a good schedule.

You are on Nutramigen formula which is a total bummer because it is expensive. I'm not really sure it helps all that much but I think it does some. Your real problem right now is reflux. You take Zantac to help the pain. Sometimes I think it helps and other times I'm not so sure.

You're such a big girl now. You like to hold your head up when we carry and hold you. It makes mommy a little sad that you don't like to lay your head on my shoulder anymore.

You also like to stand up. Your legs are so strong and you can stay like this for a long time without them buckling. Please stop growing up so fast.

You smile, laugh, and talk ALL the time. You still get upset when you're hungry, tired, or your reflux hurts you but other than that you are very happy.

Most of your fussy episodes are short lived because they are easily fixed. Your mommy and daddy are thankful to have a happy baby. Some things that soothe you now are your paci, a bath, Praise Baby, and just being in your room.

You're very social. You've been on several small trips to see your family and friends and you've had more visitors come to see you. You are so good when we take you out. You hardly every cry or get fussy.

You've been to the church nursery twice already. Both times mommy was in there too. It's going to take me a little to be ready to leave you in there without me. I'm getting there though.

Sadie, you do something new every day which makes being around you so much fun. I love when it is time to get you from your crib because you just smile and stretch. A lot of times your daddy and I like to go in there together because neither one of us wants to miss out on your cuteness. You bring so much joy to our lives. I can't even imagine what life was like before you were here. I'm sad that you're growing so fast so I want to make sure and savor every moment and every day. I know this next month will bring lots more changes with it. Your daddy and I love you more today than yesterday!
